This song started out its life in 2012, when David began working on it as a tribute to his late friend. It remained on a hard drive for many years before we brushed it off and put lyrics to it, turning it into a memorial for the many people we have lost, both friends and family.

Throughout November and up until early January, we wrote, recorded and mixed “Hear Me” using equipment in our home. Like many artists right now, we’re working with a DIY approach, and hoping to get as many demos out into the world as possible, whilst also striving to improve with each new release.

At its core, “Hear Me” is a song about grieving and bargaining. The grieving process doesn’t happen in a linear way for most people, and the song, with different phases hitting us in different ways. This song is similar, with its quiet restrained verses giving way to a commanding, steady riff, while the chorus repeats and shifts with ever increasing desperation.
